The Ephorate of Underwater Antiquities (EUA) announces the successful completion of the certification seminar for diving guides in underwater archaeological sites, which was organized within the framework of subproject 1 “Creation of Accessible Underwater Archaeological Sites (AUAS) in Alonissos and the Western Pagasitic”, which is part of the “THESSALIA PROGRAM 2021-2027”.
The seminar was held online on May 5 and 6, 2025 (18:00 – 20:00) via the e:Presence platform, with a large participation of professional scuba and/or recreational freediving guides.
The purpose of the seminar was to train candidates to accompany and guide visitors to the AUAS of Alonissos (Peristera) and the Western Pagasitic Gulf (Kikynthos, Tilegraphos, Glaros), in accordance with the relevant operating regulations.
Participation in both parts of the seminar was mandatory for candidates to be registered on the list of certified AUAS escorts maintained by the Ephorate of Underwater Antiquities.
The Ephorate of Underwater Antiquities thanks all participants for their interest and commitment and expresses its satisfaction for the high participation and successful completion of the seminar, which contributes decisively to the promotion and protection of the country’s underwater cultural heritage.
